AS 09:The Patience Stone (2012)

I was weird out by this movie. A lot of it made little sympathy from me. I felt that "the woman" as sympathetic character. One of the things that make it hard is that the character is full of layers that felt like something that he felt that character need to tell. Her husband is something else. I did not know what is going to him medical. I mean if it was something symbolic than it would make sense. Anything else for that matter it does not. I am not sure how I feel about the movie. I thoughts the actress Golshifteh Farahani did an excellent job. The movie first act was great, but the final acts were what I did not were strong enough as the first.

TP05: The Great equalizer

In life, a person has to choice to do one thing from three. The first to help society. You could do that by becoming a teacher. The second thing is gain power. You could do that be regulating the lives of people. The third thing is gain wealth. You could do that be working in start up and not wall street, because wall street is heavily regulated. The book for me felt like trying to answer that ultimate question of trying to figure out a way to get to the middle ground of all three relationship. The Great Equalizer by David M. Smick is trying to navigate a direction for American regulators to think like start up with the heart of teacher to make the most important driving forces for growth through Main Street and not through over-regulations or hedge fund constraints. The lack of empowerment becomes a tool of suffocation to innovation, and the people that have the power are busy trying to hold on to their share by lobbying through legislation that stops anyone from taking their mar...

TP04: Why Europe Conquered the world

It is not big secret that Western Europeans conquered the world; Russia conquered the East without saying. It is also not a big secret that they still control the world today. So why would a scholar like Philip T. Hoffman want to answer this question. The author points that a lot of the answer has been known as a fact of the reality that we live today. Also, it was answered by more famous book which the answer to why European were able to conquer the word with the title, Guns, Germs, and Steel .  As the title of Jared Diamond suggested, the Europeans that traveled throughout the planet had the the advances weaponry, and the immunity to disease that natives of other parts of the world did not. But for Philip T. Hoffman, Professor of Economic and History, the answer that Diamond provided did not answer the fundamental question of why Europe and no other Eurasian superpower did of the 1500. Some of the points that Professor Philip raised that stuck with me was because of region...

TP03: The Silent Majority

One of the first thing that I was hoping to get from Matthew D. Lassiter book was understanding the Silent Majority. The term has been used over the past election without great effort, but it was used speak about the majority of White Suburban population that makes up the majority of the American population. The subtitled of the book is Suburban Politics in the Sunbelt South. The book does not go over this subject matter until the last third of the book. The first two parts of the book to my surprise was the school desegregation conflict in Atlanta, Georgia and Charlotte, North Carolina. The author co-wrote a book before called Resistance to School Desegregation in Virginia . The author wanted to use both the desegregation of both area to show the grassroot effort that spend by average middle class parents to get their opinion of color blind schooling system into place. The believed that busing was the against the logical policy of paying more taxes to afforded better schooling in...

AS 08: Travelers (2016)

Time Traveling in medium usually raises a lot of questions. The more lost you and the more you try to figure what is going on; I think it good .   Primer is the primary movie about time that exist that follows a strong logical narrative. If you did not understand it, it is because the filmmaker lay down the rules for you and you did not understand it. It is like a Mathematical theory. You could read the proof and the proof would seem to make no sense, but if the mathematician think that he has explain it enough without using too many words, he does not need to add more words. The same goes with Primer. The maker makes his statement and it is up to you to understand it. Most people don’t get the movie but it does change the concept that it is the closest thing to what might happened if we time travel. The most famous traveler are a pair of dudes. The first is doctor, inventor, and his high school student, not sure of relation, traveled through time using speed  in 1985. B...
