Time Traveling in medium usually raises a lot of questions. The more lost you and the more you try to figure what is going on; I think it good . Primer is the primary movie about time that exist that follows a strong logical narrative. If you did not understand it, it is because the filmmaker lay down the rules for you and you did not understand it. It is like a Mathematical theory. You could read the proof and the proof would seem to make no sense, but if the mathematician think that he has explain it enough without using too many words, he does not need to add more words. The same goes with Primer. The maker makes his statement and it is up to you to understand it. Most people don’t get the movie but it does change the concept that it is the closest thing to what might happened if we time travel.
The most famous traveler are a pair of dudes. The first is doctor, inventor, and his high school student, not sure of relation, traveled through time using speed in 1985. Back to the Future is the most beloved movie about time traveling and it has very little rules that character does not effect only his own destiny. The other duo are from the 1990s show Quatnum Leap. The show is another example of beloved to the audience and fan favorite. The reason I think that both shows are beloved is because the travelers are limited to two people, and the show follow a simple narrow changes that the character make to the character themselves and not to anything else.
The Netflix show Travelers, in my opinion, is hot mess with massive number of time travelers that a lot of side characters that it impossible to know what is going with the time traveling. I tried to get understand it but it was a little bit hard to follow and not in Primer kind of way.
In the show, the people that come from the future are more likely soldiers that follow one timeline in the past. The travelers sacrifice their life and live the rest of their life in the body of person that has not yet died but almost did. The person that they take over is recorded in history as die. Even if they did not die, they are overwriting by the future conscious anyways and there is no to change the past.
It might seem bizarre that these people would know the time of death of person by the second. Even though they only get their data from the information that they gathered. An example is the character of Marcy Warton. The future people gather information from her social media page. The show says that they made a mistake with information. They feel like they pick up the wrong information about her since her social media information is wrong, but for some reason. They knew about one minute off of her death. So, let us try to assume to know when she will die. That means that the future would go over her obuties. Her death certificate and all of the information about her. So, if they have all of the information her. They would know that she had sever truma that she is not good enough to become a person of interest. But it seems that they did not have anything expect her social media page. Did the social media have her up to minute death or did they assume that she is going to die and they killed her before she died.
The travelers is weird show that makes a little bit less sense in the second look. We know that each traveler has job and some have more important jobs than other. The black woman Carly Shannon is suppose to show the struggle of single mother with crazy detective boyfriend Jeff who is able to do Carly harm more than she could handle. The person that did not add up was Grant MacLaren, the leader. He seemed to be clueless about everything expect making decision.
Each actor as I said has purpose and his own personal problem. One of the things that makes no sense is the woman character in the show. Their parts make the least sense. One of the funny things about the travelers is that they don’t their future and badly research into the parts that they are in at the moment.
The thing that I did not like the most is the number of Travelers. I mean how people are actually travelers in the present. One of the first thing that I ask is what is going with number of travelers. The school bus scene with all of the senior cities was weird. I mean why did so much people sacrifice their lives. I mean what was the point. If they could overwrite anyone that they wanted. Why did they not overwrite the general in the first person and bring with him someone with helicopter to fly the antimatter to the sky to be destroyed.
The travelers that meet are part of larger group of traveler that have started to come back without telling the audience how long ago. One of the thing that they have is time code that they all follow. Let us assume that the travelers know a lot of things. One thing that we know about them is that they are confused. Let us get some information straight. The only reason that the team leader body came to the building is because he had died because of this investigation into the problem that the traveler had made. If it was not for them, he would not have went into the building.
