Charles Chaplin first time 6 reel was about his relationship to kid. It would not have been a big if it was not for the great performance of the kid. I have not watched a lot of silent films. It seems that I only see really great films like the Kid. The relationship of poor man and a infant that he found laying in the street is the story that could be understood in anytime and any place.
The Chaplin is the silent man that walks around trying to get do his thing. The Kid that is the primary character is around 6 years old and is played by the worlds first child actor, Jackie Coogan. Jackie had a long career in film. He lived the life of stardom from young age and was able to get roles that were beloved even late in his life. The Kid has few scenes that are very emotional and sell you the movie over and over again.
I opened the movie in the house and my children loved the movie. I mean we watched it at least four times. I watched two times with the whole family. It was great to see my family enjoy an actual good movie. The scene that was bizarre for me was the dream scene. I am not sure what was the purpose of the film. I am sure that it was relevant back when it first was released. It was not something I thought made sense, but it was film for its era as I said.
